ID RequirementsTwo forms of ID required at the test center: one must be a government-issued photo ID (passport, driver's license, national ID). The name must match exactly the name on the exam registration.
RenewalRequired -- CTP: 36 Recertification Credit Hours (RCHs) within the 3-year certification period. FP&A: 30 RCHs within the 3-year certification period. RCHs are earned through AFP conference attendance, webinars, academic courses, and other approved continuing education activities. Alternatively, lapsed credential holders may retake the exam.
PrerequisitesEither (A) a bachelor's degree and 2 years of FP&A/finance experience, or (B) 5 years of FP&A/finance experience without a degree. (recommended)
Retake PolicyCandidates who fail must wait 90 days before retaking the exam. Full exam fee is required for each retake attempt. Contact AFP for current retake policies.
