ID RequirementsGovernment-issued photo ID required. Name on ID must match registration exactly.
RenewalRequired -- All NREMT certifications are valid for 2 years. Renewal requires 24 hours of continuing education (CE) or completion of a refresher course. CE must be submitted through the NREMT online portal. Paramedics must include specific topic hours as defined by NREMT requirements.
Retake Policy15-day waiting period between failed attempts. Maximum 6 lifetime attempts per certification level. After 6 failed attempts, candidates must complete an additional refresher course before being eligible to retest. Each retake requires a new registration fee.
